Scott D. Cole, CFP®
Scott is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™. He is the founder, principal shareholder, and president of Cole Financial Planning and Wealth Management, Inc. A native and lifelong resident of metro Birmingham, Scott received degrees from Samford University, Southwestern Theological Seminary and the University of Alabama. In the past, he also held the designations of Accredited Investment Fiduciary™, and Certified Divorce Financial Analyst™.
His work and expertise is widely recognized. Scott has been quoted in publications including the Wall Street Journal, NY Times, Money Magazine, Washington Post, US News and World Report and ABCnews.com. For a decade, Scott was the financial expert for WVTM-13, the NBC affiliate in Birmingham, where he offered weekly financial education, tips and personal financial advice.
Scott also serves as an adjunct professor at the University of Alabama’s College of Human Environmental Sciences, where he teaches “Retirement Planning and Employee Benefits.” In 2006, Scott received the college’s Jack Davis Award for Professional Achievement.
Scott lives in the Birmingham area with his wife Tracy and his two daughters. When his kids move out of the house he hope to resume fishing. In the meantime, he enjoys college sports, supports of the U.S. national soccer teams and a has been a long-suffering Aston Villa fan in the English Premier League.
He enjoys speaking and presenting when the opportunity presents itself. He has a great love for books and a weakness for doughnuts and electronic gadgets.
